During the 50’s and the 60’s a trend was emerging that was called time capsules, and we all know the drill, you take an object, you buried it under ground and you put a timeline of most commonly 50 years before anyone can dig it out, trying to show the future generations what was what half a century ago and take them on a tour of the past.

The variety of objects that were buried in time capsules was incredible so normally cars were on the list too for getting the time travel treatment.

The one that we are showing you today comes to us from Oklahoma where they decided to bury a brand new 1957 Plymouth Belvedere, for the future generations.

So exactly 50 years from that date, or back in 2007 to be exact, the car was dug out and brought to the spotlight to show how it handled the 5 decades of life underground.

Check out the video and see what emerged.

  1. I have restored a 57 Chrysler that had a lot of rust and it was a nightmare. If its that badly rusted leave it on display like that or crush it.

  2. I have a trued barned find an original 57 Plymouth Fury that my father bought new (have original Bill of sale) very little rust (speedo 150 and 2×4 barrels) …and I am in the process of rebuilding it (with a few modern safety touches like brake upgrades & electronic ignition) … wish me luck

  3. I like the car it was one of the first cars I ever owned I had it for at least six seven years and then I end up getting another car because something happened to the A-frame but I wish I still had it
