1969 396 Chevy Nova SS Smokes 1969 HEMI Dodge Charger R/T!

Where else in the world will you be able to see two cars from 1969 that are able to run 11s, and although the charger did actually run 12,3 the commentator said that this particular a 1969 hemi Dodge  Charger R/T has been timed running 11s.

This time however, while racing a 1969 Chevy Nova SS 396 at Raceway Park in Old Bridge Township Englishtown NJ, the driver had a terrible reaction time and it looked like he fell asleep at the starting line and thus had a slower time and it cost him his win.

Apparently, that Nova had even more to give since that day it broke into the 10s and ran a few consistent races breaking the famed 10 second barrier.

Check out amazing classic muscle cars race in the video bellow, and tell us what would your choice be between these two? Would you park the Charger or the Nova in your garage if given the chance?

  1. The video doesn’t match the story. The video shows the Nova was the first car to move and didn’t snooze as written. Second, the Nova didn’t run 10 seconds, it ran 11.016. Also, the Hemi was slow off the tree and the race on video shows he failed to run 11 seconds and ran 12.477. The Nova was clearly the faster car. At least the comments should match the video’s posted. Ask a car guy to write your next racing video.
