Take a look at this, Chief and Jackie Return with a New Shop Build: DIY Car Lift Installation!
The wait is over—Chief and Jackie are back, and this time they’re bringing fans inside their brand-new shop setup. In their latest update, the Street Outlaws favorites showcase how they’re getting ready for a fresh racing season by installing a massive four-post car lift. From heavy lifting to safety upgrades, their new shop promises to be the ultimate home base for race car maintenance, small-tire tuning, and high-performance experiments.
A Packed Shop Ready for Expansion
At the start of the video, Chief reveals a packed shop with cars lined up tightly against one side. The empty space in the middle is reserved for something big—the four-post lift installation. With Jackie by his side, helping print manuals and guide the process, the pair begin tackling the challenge of transforming their workspace into a fully functional racing garage.
Installing the Four-Post Lift
The installation process wasn’t easy. From hauling in heavy runways to connecting plumbing, electrical, and leveling components, Chief describes the lift as “large, large, and in charge.” Once secured, the lift opens up endless possibilities for faster and safer race car service and maintenance.
Chief highlights that while big-tire cars once made four-post lifts seem impractical, for small-tire racing they are a game-changer. The lift’s adjustable runways and front turnbuckles allow quick alignments and suspension tweaks, helping fine-tune race setups without constantly rolling cars back and forth.
Safety First: Emergency Shut-Off Switches
One of the most important upgrades Chief and Jackie added is an emergency shut-off switch. Standard lift buttons can stick if pressed unevenly, leading to dangerous situations. Chief recalls a close call where Jackie was left holding a car steady after the lift malfunctioned while the motor was out.
Learning from that experience, they installed emergency shut-offs on both lifts. Now, if anything goes wrong, a quick flip of the switch cuts power immediately—making safety a top priority in their new shop.
Overhead Clearance Challenges
During setup, Chief faced another hurdle: the lift’s height. The posts were taller than expected and interfered with the shop’s overhead trusses. After consulting the manufacturer, he confirmed it was safe to go over the trusses as long as both structures remained independent. While it looks unconventional, the solution worked without compromising strength or safety.
Future Shop Plans
With one lift installed and running smoothly, Chief already has his eyes on the future. He hints at adding a two-post lift in another section of the shop, giving them more flexibility for different types of builds—from small-tire cars to trucks and daily drivers.
Why This Matters for Street Outlaws Fans
For fans of Street Outlaws and Chief & Jackie, this shop update is more than just a DIY project—it’s a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes world where cars are tuned, tested, and prepared for the strip. The addition of a four-post lift means faster turnarounds, safer adjustments, and more innovative setups for the races ahead.
With their new shop coming together, Chief and Jackie are setting the stage for exciting times in both No Prep Kings competition and street racing projects.
