Kye Kelley & Disco Dean Impressive Runs at IHRA Promod!

Take a look at this, Kye Kelley & Disco Dean Impressive Runs at IHRA Promod!

The latest action from the IHRA Pro Mod event at Milan Dragway brought fire and heartbreak for some of Street Outlaws’ biggest names. While Kye Kelley and Disco Dean showcased insane performance improvements, the event proved to be a brutal test of precision, reaction time, and track control.

Disco Dean’s Blistering 3.72-Second Pass Cut Short

Disco Dean came into the weekend with momentum and confidence, and his 3.72-second pass proved his car is getting faster with each run. Despite the exceptional performance, Dean went double-08 red on the tree during his race against Frankie Taylor, who had staging issues of his own.

Even in less-than-optimal air conditions, Disco’s performance was nothing short of impressive. His car continues to improve, and that 3.72 hit shows he’s a serious contender when the light stays green.

Kye Kelley Goes 3.69, Then Veers Out Early

Kye Kelley had a solid start, laying down a 3.69 pass to beat Tom Binko’s 3.93, especially notable given the 3,000 ft air and steel body car setup. However, in Round 2, Kye red-lit as well and struggled to keep the car straight, nearly tagging the wall right off the launch.

It was an early and unfortunate end for Kelley, but his earlier round proved that his car is capable of running with the best — especially in challenging track conditions.

Larry Larson Advances, Harts Supercharger Under Scrutiny

While some fan favorites went out early, Larry Larson is still in the hunt, advancing to Round 3 despite ongoing issues keeping the car straight. His runs in the low 3.70s at over 204 mph have turned heads, particularly because of his Harts centrifugal supercharger setup.

The Harts charger, while technically similar in size to the Procharger 140mm, appears to make more power and higher mile-per-hour results, even outperforming the screw blower at 92% overdrive. This dominance has already sparked speculation about rule changes, including potential weight penalties for Harts-powered setups.

Robin Roberts Confirms the Harts Advantage

It’s not just Larson. Robin Roberts also went number one qualifier with a nearly identical setup, confirming that the Harts centrifugal supercharger is currently the fastest in the Pro Mod field.

Final Thoughts

The IHRA Pro Mod event at Milan Dragway served as a high-octane proving ground for some of Street Outlaws’ top talent. While Kye Kelley and Disco Dean are out, they proved their builds are among the fastest on the circuit. Meanwhile, Larry Larson keeps the pressure on — and the supercharger tech war is heating up.

As the season progresses, expect the IHRA and other sanctioning bodies to take a closer look at blower parity, especially with the Harts setup dominating both ETs and trap speeds.
