Take a look at this, Texas Streets Are BACK with WILD 180MPH Racing in Houston!

Street racing fans were in for a treat as 1320video returned to Houston, Texas, bringing back the adrenaline-pumping action that has been missing since TX2K left. With speeds pushing 180 MPH and a lineup of high-horsepower machines, the night delivered everything from door-to-door battles to blown engines.

The Return of Houston Street Racing

For the first time since TX2K’s departure, the Texas streets lit up again with a fleet of 30–40 high-performance cars. The lineup included Hellcats, Mustangs, Corvettes, GTRs, Vipers, MR2s, and more. Houston proved why it remains one of the hottest spots for underground racing.

Monster Builds on Display

  • Nitrous & Turbo Truck – A single-cab GMC truck making over 1,000 horsepower with turbo and nitrous delivered some jaw-dropping launches. Despite an axle failure mid-run, the truck showcased raw power and resilience.

  • Twin-Turbo Viper – Equipped with pulsar turbos and tuned on a Motec 150, this beast made around 1,050+ horsepower, squaring off against some of the night’s toughest competition.

  • Grand Sport Corvette – Running twin 70mm turbos and producing around 1,150 horsepower, it went head-to-head in some of the night’s most thrilling side-by-side races.

  • GT350 Mustang – Featuring an ESS G3R supercharger on E85, tuned by Rob Shoemaker, this build pushed nearly 900 horsepower while still rocking a stock motor and transmission.

  • C7 Z06 Corvette – Street-tuned with a built Gen-2 motor and Precision turbos, this Z06 showed why it’s one of the most feared cars on the streets, pulling off flawless runs.

The Best Races of the Night

From Corvette vs. Viper showdowns to turbo Mustangs battling Camaros, fans witnessed some of the closest racing of the season. The highlight came when two evenly matched cars went door-to-door at over 170 MPH, leaving both drivers and spectators buzzing.

Mechanical Carnage at 39 PSI

Of course, no night of extreme street racing is complete without carnage. A Gen-2 Coyote Mustang turned up the boost to 39 pounds, resulting in a catastrophic engine failure. Dubbed its seventh motor, the Mustang “grenaded pretty good,” proving once again that chasing maximum power has its risks.

Houston Delivers Once Again

The action wrapped around 4 AM, earlier than usual, but the night was filled with unforgettable racing moments. Despite broken parts and missed gears, the Texas street scene proved it’s still alive and thriving. With promises to return, 1320video and Houston racers have reignited the flame of street racing in Texas.
