This 1700hp Cadillac CTS-V Breaks WORLD RECORD!

At the turn of the millennium Cadillac leadership was getting tired of Americans buying all those Audi RS6, BMW M5’s and Mercedes AMG so they decided to offer a high performance sedan which would be lower priced than the German trio but still be able to beat them at their own game.

Four years later in 2004 the Cadillac CTS-V saw the light of day with a 5.7 L pushrod OHV LS6 engine “rated” at 400 hp at 6,000 rpm and with 395 lb·ft of torque at 4,800 rpm. However after some folks strapped it down to a dyno, the Cady put down about 350 horsepower to the wheels which in turn brings it closer to 425 horses on the crank.

The car had a great success and many of the owners decided to put a little extra oomph under the hood which the rest of the car took pretty well.

Some of them however, went a bit nuts, and this is a video of one of them.

This is the story of the 1700 horsepower beast which broke the record with an incredible 7.62 @ 182mph run, so watch and enjoy.
