For most part, when it comes to turbocharged engines, the equation is pretty simple, you produce more power by adding more boost.
However, cramming down tons of boost into the cylinders is not that simple because there are numerous things that can go wrong, and you need the engine’s internals to be capable of putting up with that added pressure in the engine.
These guys seem to know what they are doing because the car that they are working on, already has more than 1 300 horsepower to the rear wheels, but they decide to up the ante and push more boost in that engine.
Even before they do it they talk about the plastic manifold on that engine and the next thing you know is that it explodes sending huge flames out the exhaust and the engine itself catches fire, something that they were probably predicting already, so check it out in the video bellow.
