Blown Chevy Nova Pops The Blower During Race!

Blown Chevy Nova Pops The Blower During Race!

Unlike the turbo chargers, the supercharger is not using exhaust gasses to power itself. This means that it needs to suck power from the engine in order to provide compression on the intake side of the manifold.

This in return provides less mileage because the engine power is used at all times in order to keep the supercharger spinning, and this is why there are far less engines with superchargers instead of turbocharged engines leaving the factory floors in the world.

But while the rest of the world cares about saving the environment and using a few drops of fuel less, there is one sport in particular where none of this matter, and this is where the superchargers are the kings of compression, we are talking off course about drag racing.

And this time we bring you an awesome Chevy Nova that is using the full potential of its blower, well to be honest it used more than it can give so at the end of the race it blew apart.

Luckily, we have it on video for you to witness and enjoy, and yes, even with the malfunction this beast crossed the line in 7,68 @134,62 mph, now that’s some serious power, what would the time be if the blower lasted a fraction of a second longer? You tell us, in the comment section.
