While they have declined in numbers and popularity it is obvious that gassers are still present at the drag racing scene and they are still doing what they do best, attract attention and go fast in a straight line.
Today’s example in this class is called Daddy’s Thing, and it was named back in the late 60’s when it was first built and raced by a guy named Frank Marshall who actually had seven daughters.
The last few years, it is run by Brandon, son of Ted who enjoys putting the front wheels in the air and getting some huge wheelies behind the wheel of this 1985 Chevy Belair powered by a 540 Big Block Chevy.
So far the car has been able to crack the sub 10 second barrier with a 9.93 pass that resulted with a top speed of 135.27 mph.
