Take a look at this, Derrick Brown Rips into the Wall at PDRA Summer Shootout 2021!!!
Today we are headed to Virginia Motorsports Park, where the Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) has held their Summer Shootout Presented by Ty-Drive this weekend.
With the championship still up for grabs, Derrick Brown was competing in the Top Sportsman class in order to collect as many points as he can, however this time it all kinda went sideways in a hurry.
Unfortunately for the organizers as well as the racers, on Saturday the weather did not let them finish the planned racing and with just a couple of races to go, the weather had the final say and asked the organizers and the racers to stop, and continue on the next day.
This was a bit problematic for everybody, however these are professional racers and they are used to going head to head with the weather as it tries to keep them from pushing their cars faster and faster with each round.
Derrick was on what looked like a great pass however somewhere before the middle of the track, the car snapped violently to the right pulling both right wheels of the ground and making it nearly impossible for Derrick to keep it off the wall.
The impact was serious however we do not know how severe the damage is to the car.
All we can do now is hope that him and his team will be able to fix the car up before the next event named Summit Racing Equipment PDRA ProStars, which is to be held during Virginia Motorsports Park’s Night of Fire on July 31.
In case he misses that one, there is always hope that he will be able to make it to the next one down the line, the P2 Contracting Northern Nationals presented by P2 Racing, which is to be held in August 12-14.
