If you have been following street racing, then you must have heard his name.
We are talking about Tom Bailey and his street car the famous 1969 Camaro AKA Sick Seconds, a car that has shocked the world whit a time of just 5.773 at 259.66 MPH and that was done in full Drag Week trim as they call it.
According to them, the car makes about 3 500 horsepower and they use it to put the fear in everybody that shows up at the Drag Week events.
This street legal ProMod as he likes to refer to it, is at the Gainesville Raceway today as it does some testing on the track.
However, as always he is not alone on the track so he is not testing by himself, instead keeping him company there are many other racers in different categories like the Funny cars and the Top Fuel Dragster with Clay Millican behind the wheel.
Tom being Tom, always in the pursuit for a race or two decided to go over to Clay and make him a proposition.
He wants Clay to give him the lead so they can have a race.
Yes, Tom is well aware that Clay’s Top Fuel Dragster is capable of pushing out about 11 000 horsepower which is a bit more than what his car is capable of, however like we already said, Tom likes a challenge.
In reality you don’t get to be the fastest guy in a street car if you shy away from a race, even when the cards are stacked against you, and that is what Tom is experiencing now, because the odds are not in his favor at all.
Will Clay give him the lead so they can have a race?
