First Hell of a Run in the 2019 Chevrolet eCOPO!!

Check this awesome moment, First Hell of a Run in the 2019 Chevrolet eCOPO!!

We live in a very interesting time, a time in which the fastest 0-60 time in a mass produced vehicle is held by a sedan, one that competes in luxury with an S-class and at the same time is safer than the best that Volvo has to offer.

This sedan, does this sprint quieter than the quietest Lexus, and yet it can drive you home on its own.

You can even summon it with your cellphone to do the valet’s job and park itself in front of the hotel so you can get in, on a rainy day.

In case by chance you still haven’t figured it out, we are talking of course about the Tesla Model S P100D, a car that Motor Trend pegged reaching 60 from a standstill in just 2.28 seconds.

Part of it success is due to the way electric motors work. You see, the electric motor has peak torque while standing still or more precisely at 0 rpm, so this helps it launch very, very hard.

It was only normal for General Motors to try and get in on the action with their 2019 Chevrolet eCopo, an electric concept drag racing vehicle made by GM that has an 800-volt battery and twin BorgWarner HVH motor, kicking out about 780 horsepower.

On the very first run, this machine, whilst using about 80% of its power slammed down a run with a 1.30 second 60’, and managed to hit the finish line in 10.142 at 130.85 MPH, which shows us that very soon, these guys will be doing passes that are in the mid 9’s.

So check out this quiet killer and tell us, do you think it can compete with a real purpose built V-8 drag car?
