These guys take their machines at more than 110% of what they can very often, but luckily they have so many races under their belt that freezing up and crashing is not on their list so what they do is some incredible maneuvers in order to keep the front pointed at the finish line, and the roof up.
This is exactly what happened to the driver of the HammerHead Procharged Corvette at the Winter Meltdown No Prep event where he got out of shape near the end of the run, at some very high speed.
The reason was not the car, because after it happened they checked for leaks and for anything loose on the suspension but they could not locate any problem with the car, so it must be the track or he just pushed that thing over the top.
The good thing is that it all ended well with just a great memory of him seesawing at the wheel trying to keep things under control, check it out.
