The leaf spring suspension has been outdated for quite a while in regular passenger cars, and apart from some pickups and trucks, there is barely anything coming out of the factory with this type of setup.

This type of suspension goes back for centuries as it was used on horse drawn wagons since the 1700’s but due to its cheap and sturdy design, this has been kept in use in one form or another to today.

To talk about a car that has the newest technology in the engine bay, like the 547 c.i. Harrell Engine and Dyno-built engine – which has been strapped with a single massive 118mm turbocharger unit, and to tell you that this Dodge Dart is still riding on the similar setup of leaf springs like the horse buggy from centuries ago, then we might be talking about the best leaf spring suspension ever in history.

This is Jason Digbys 1969 Dodge Dart, aptly named the “Tooth Jerker”, since the owner is a dentist by day and it is the fastest leaf spring vehicle to ever hit the track, check it out.
