HOW MUCH BOOST IS TOO MUCH? THIS GUY FINDS OUT THE HARD WAY!
Most of you know that when it comes to turbo charged engines the equation is pretty simple, the base of it is that more boost, makes more power, but there is that X which you can never be certain of and it marks the amount of boost an engine can handle.
There is a famous saying which goes “The perfectly engineered race car, should fall apart as soon as it crosses the finish line” meaning that you should push the limits of the entire vehicle to the max.
And apparently these guys have been walking that thin line between how much boost this engine can take vs creating an expensive fireworks display.
To be honest that factory 2 bolt block running 7 second passes was a great achievement but it was apparently a bit under stress as it literally exploded sending red hot metal flying all over the place.
