Check this, Muscle Cars Drag Racing at Memorial Day Weekend Race GLD 2021!!!
While many enjoyed their Memorial Day weekend with their family these guys decided for something much, much louder and much faster than the rest of the folks in the US.
These guys decided that the best way to spend Memorial Day was by doing something much more American than others, they decided to grab a bunch of American Muscle cars and launch them towards the finish line at breakneck speed, trying to beat the clock as well as the guy in the next lane.
Located in the small town of Paris in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, the Great Lakes Dragaway is the second oldest continuously working drag racing track, and it has been operating since 1955.
This legendary track hosted the Memorial Day race which featured one of the most interesting groups of cars, the Pro85 which as you are about to see is one very interesting group of cars whose times on the quarter mile track are close to 8 seconds.
While nearly all of them are capable of pulling a wheelie some of them are equipped with the proper “anti-wheelie” equipment like wheelie bars in order to try and convert all that torque into forward acceleration, instead of using it to lift the front wheels off the ground.
What really amazed us, a part from how powerful these cars are, was the fact that all of them are looking as sharp as showroom cars, unlike the beat up race cars that we are used seeing.
Since we are used to see battle scars on race cars, proving that the car was driven to the best of its abilities, and beyond them, it is really refreshing seeing how clean and spotless all these cars were.
