Take a look at this, Power Wheelie Shootout, Drag Racing Old School American Muscle Cars!
The popular Byron Dragway located near Chicago is where we are headed today, and we have something really special that is happening there.
It is the power wheelie shootout, where the sky is the limit, or at least it is where these guys are hopping they will be pointing the front end of the car in order to impress the audience.
Pulling a massive wheelie is not an easy task.
You would need huge amounts of power as well as huge amounts of grip which would propel the vehicle forward with such force that it would make the car rotate on its rear axle and point the hood at the sky, while accelerating.
The guys that showed up for this event know this and even though most of them use their wheelie bars in order to prevent this from happening all of them are on board and apparently are really enjoying these hard launches.
As a bonus to all the classic muscle car lovers out there, nearly the entire lineup is made up of gorgeous American muscle cars from the past, well except for the white Mustang near the end.
Do not worry however, the new Mustang has no way of pulling a real wheelie or beating these huge output machines on their turf, but it is still nice to see that the gentleman decided to include it in the race, and to that we say kudos.
These showroom quality machines are quite the sight to behold and we cannot choose which one we like the best to save our lives.
