The Street Outlaws Memphis team led by JJ Da Boss have a rule, chase is a race, meaning if you take off before the go signal, be it an arm drop or a light, and the guy in the lane next to you follows you, then you have a race so you need to chase him down.
It basically means that if the guy right next to you takes off before the signal then all you need to do is sit tight in order to win the race, something that the pair of guys in the beginning of the video could not accomplish, ending up with both red lights turned on, something that kinda smells like inexperience.
