This ’61 Skylark was NEVER meant to go THIS FAST!

Hell yeah, This ’61 Skylark was NEVER meant to go THIS FAST!

The year was 1961 and midway thru, a two door sedan came out which was named Buick Special Skylark and it was meant to be a luxury sedan, which the full vinyl interior suggested along with other amenities which were considered luxury back then.

Now nearly 6 decades later, or 58 years to be more precise, one of those cars is out there at the Pikes Peak Airstrip, doing something that nobody imagined it can do back in the sixties, it is trying to reach 200 miles an hour, if only the guys that built it could see it now, right.

This 1400 horsepower monster was built with this kind of competition in mind and the twin turbo engine was built to push the vehicle all the way to the magic number of 200 miles an hour, and while it spun the tires in the first two rounds and was only able to reach 194 mph, he was hoping to get it on the third run.

Check out the video and see if he managed to break the barrier.
