We all know that BMW makes a few of the best sports cars in their class, however many are not familiar with one of the best they ever made, the BMW M1 that was built from 1978 to 1981, in Italy (mostly) with final assembly taking place in Munich, be it more of an inspection rather than a real assembly, because let’s face it, Germans never did trust most of the thing built in Italy.
This was a BMW that had a tubular space-frame chassis, which screams race car to the ones that know their builds, and they would be correct, because this BMW was mainly manufactured to comply with the strict homologation rules, by no other than Lamborghini.
