Ever since it first came out, the Tesla Model X has been declared as the champion of SUV safety by the NHTSA and the Euro NCAP, the world’s top safety associations.
The biggest reason for this was the fact that unlike most of the other SUVs which have a very high center of gravity, the Tesla Model X has a battery pack in the floor of the vehicle making it the heaviest part of the vehicle and thus keeping the center of gravity very low to the ground.
As a result, the Model X is the first SUV to receive the perfect NHTSA score due to the fact that it just refuses to roll like the other SUV’s do.
This video however, proves that no matter how safe a vehicle is when it leaves the factory, there is always some situation that can put the occupants in danger, for example a Nissan GTR running a red light at high speed.
The aftermath is just scary, with four people injured, a Model X split in half by the speeding Nissan, and debris scattered all over the place.
