For all the drag racers, be it on the track or on the street, the effect of the wheelstand is something that they try to avoid at all cost, and they do this by installing the well-known wheelie bars.
Their job is to prevent the car from rotating on the rear axle thus putting the front end in the air and causing the car to loose steering, something that is not taken lightly at the speeds that these guys achieve.
For some however, this is an awesome way to have fun and to entertain the crowd.
This is why we have such event like the Byron Dragway World Power Wheelstand Show, which is one of the craziest event you can imagine.
These guys have spent hours upon hours in the garage building cars which in a way are the exact opposite of the drag car, because unlike the drag cars, these guys want to get their front end in the air and they make sure that their cars can do this with the stab of the throttle.
There are many great competitors that have entered this competition and in a minute you will get to see all of them, however we just have to point out Chris Pearce, a guy who not only come here to win, instead he came here to dominate even if it means destroying his car totally.
He would not let go off the throttle even when his car was riding, (yes you read that right) the wall and you can hear the engine bouncing off the rev limiter even once over the wall, now that is determination if we ever saw one.
It might seem crazy but he did not even win the event, just because there were so many awesome competitors with great determination and great cars, so check out the video and enjoy some real insane power wheelies.
